چکیده
High free fatty acids in waste cooking oil can interfere with the re-use of oil. Therefore, absorption technique is one way that reduce contained Aim: The purpose this study to find out ability Reactivated Spent Bleaching Earth (RSBE) adsorb be biodiesel products. In study, was collected from fried food sellers Bekasi, while spent bleaching earth (SBE)-one solid wastes produced by refinery palm industry as an adsorbent-was PT X. For (RSBE), redundant used 0.7 M HNO3. To obtain optimum products, applied variation time (i.e., 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90 minutes) concentration (6%, 9%, 12%, 15%, 18%). Methodology results: Results indicated temperature minutes were maximum 15% optimal combination 0.65%. Conclusion, significance, impact study: values water ash contents RSBE also meet quality standard activated carbon adsorbent for purification content SBE less than 3% considered not a toxic hazardous waste. it reused without pre-treatment. addition, found there changes pore on surface SBE, both activated. conclude, absorbent absorb

Investigation of Soybean Oil Bleaching by Using Walnut Shell
In this research, the application of walnut shell ash, as an adsorbent for soybean oil bleaching, has been investigated. Therefore, neutralized soybean oil was bleached with 1 and 2% of walnut shell ash as well as commercial bleaching earth. Then, a series of chemical tests such as amounts of carotenoids, chlorophylls, peroxide value, and free fatty acid content of bleached oils and oil retenti...
متن کاملThe effect of spent bleaching earth ageing process on its physicochemical and microbial composition and its potential use as a source of fatty acids and triterpenes
This study was aimed at investigating the physicochemical and microbiological changes that took place during the ageing process of spent bleaching earth in the presence of autochthonous microorganisms. Research material included fresh spent bleaching earth (SBE0) and the same material after 3 years of storage at the constant temperature of 20 °C, without aeration and moistening (SBE3). Changes ...
متن کاملWaste Cooking Oil as an Alternate Feedstock for Biodiesel Production
As crude oil price reach a new high, the need for developing alternate fuels has become acute. Alternate fuels should be economically attractive in order to compete with currently used fossil fuels. In this work, biodiesel (ethyl ester) was prepared from waste cooking oil collected from a local restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ethyl alcohol with sodium hydroxide as a catalyst was use...
متن کاملReuse of spent bleaching earth by polymerisation of residual organics.
Spent bleaching earth (SBE) is a waste generated by the edible oil industry that currently has limited options for beneficial reuse. In excess of ∼2 million tonnes per year of SBE is generated world-wide with major quantities available in the middle-east where significant volumes of edible oils are produced. Low pressure compaction followed by heat treatment at 150°C causes polymerisation of th...
